About Us
About Trailbound Journal
An independent hiking magazine, written by people who walk the routes and pay for their own beds.
What we do
Trailbound Journal is an independent hiking magazine in English. We write route reports for long-distance trails, destination guides for places worth the flight, gear notes that name real weights and prices, and field journal pieces about how trails actually work.
Everything on the site is written in our own words. We do not translate or copy other outlets, and we do not run sponsored articles dressed up as reviews.
How we test routes
Every route we recommend has been walked by our own small team, on our own tickets and with our own money. We sleep in the same albergues, huts and hostels, pay the same entry fees, and take the same buses as everyone else.
We check details against public information from parks services, hut associations and transport operators, and we say plainly when something is uncertain. Trail conditions, prices and regulations change, so our reports are a starting point, not a guarantee.
What we do not do
We are not a tour operator and we do not sell bookings, maps or gear. We do not accept payments from hotels, outfitters or resorts to place or praise them, and we never link to commercial partners. If a hotel treated us well, that is our opinion, not their advertisement.
Who runs this site
Trailbound Journal is published by Guangmei Technology Co., Ltd. Editorial decisions are made independently of any commercial interest. For questions about the site or an article, the fastest way to reach us is by email at zhaojingping@iguangmei.com.
Send us a route
We are always looking for the next trail to test. If there is a route, region or piece of gear you would like us to cover, tell us about it on our contact page — the best suggestions usually start with a place we have not been.
